The week everything led to one question: where the cycle bottom is

Three editions, three different angles, one thread: the structure of the cycle tells you where we are, not the noise of the day. Plus a clarification on the rules that take effect on July 1.

Key takeaways

On monthly closes, every Bitcoin cycle bottom has formed above the top of the cycle before it. What is being tested now is the 2021 top, around $61k.
Bitcoin has bottomed near almost every World Cup, closer to the tournament each time and with a smaller drop.
On Ichimoku, the bottoming pattern repeats every cycle: kumo cross, the cloud thickens, price seeks equilibrium inside it.
The MiCA rules from July 1 are about infrastructure, not about taxes or about your coins.
The thread running through the week: structure over noise. A good decision comes from a framework, not from panic.

Three editions. One thread.

They started from different places and arrived at the same point.

The question everyone asks, does Bitcoin fall off the cliff or not, is the wrong one. What matters is where we are in the cycle. And the answer does not come from headlines.

Cycle floor

The level below which, on monthly closes, a cycle does not go. The pattern observed on Bitcoin: the top of one cycle becomes the floor of the next. It is a framework to verify, not a guarantee.

Yesterday's top is today's floor

The week started from a structure that, so far, has never broken.

On monthly closes, every cycle bottom has formed above the top of the cycle before it. The 2017 top was at $14.2k. The 2022 bottom stopped at $16.5k, above it.

A level without a timeframe is noise. What counts is the monthly close, not the four-hour candle.

The last cycle top was around $61k. That is exactly where the test is happening now.

The second observation is about discipline. The biggest edge came in March 2023, at 54% below the top, when the press was screaming recession. Not out of courage. Out of the ratio: large reward, small risk. As price climbs, it inverts.

$61kThe 2021 cycle top, the level now being tested as a floor on monthly closes.

Bitcoin monthly closes. The 2022 bottom ($16.5k) stopped above the 2017 top ($14.2k). The 2021 cycle top is being tested now.

US inflation, year over year. It put in a turn in February 2026 and is climbing toward 4%. When inflation turns, the market reprices.

If the structure holds, the question becomes not whether the bottom settles but when. And timing is what the second edition brought.

The World Cup indicator

Midweek, a pattern that sounds like a joke, but one the data supports.

Bitcoin has bottomed near almost every World Cup. And each time the bottom came closer to the tournament, with a smaller drop.

The World Cup does not move Bitcoin. But the pattern, as a marker in time, has repeated four times.

The 2014 World Cup, a bottom 71% lower, seven months later. The 2018 World Cup, minus 52%, six months later. The 2022 World Cup, minus 4%, with the bottom arriving within days.

The 2026 World Cup is now. If the pattern continued, the bottom would already be close, with a small drop. It is one clue on top of the others, not a signal taken on its own.

-71% → -4%How deep the bottom went relative to the World Cup, cycle after cycle. Shallower every time.

Bitcoin, log scale. The bottom has landed closer to the World Cup each time, at a smaller discount: -71%, then -52%, then -4%.

Two lenses pointed at the same bottom. The third edition brought the structure of the chart and, alongside it, the noise.

The July 1 noise and a chart that is not a crash

The end of the week separated two scares from the mechanism behind them.

The first, the MiCA rules from July 1. They set who is allowed to offer crypto services in the Union, through the CASP license. They do not change taxes, which sit in national law, and they do not confiscate anyone's coins.

React to the mechanism, not to the headline. Structure does not break because of a news story.

The second scare, a drop of about 27% from the May high. It sounds like a crash. It is not. Read through Ichimoku, it looks like a bottoming process.

The cloud is the market's equilibrium zone. Every cycle the sequence is the same: kumo cross, the cloud thickens, price seeks equilibrium inside it. That is exactly where it sits now.

~27%The Bitcoin drop from the May high, read as bottoming, not as a collapse.

Bitcoin weekly with Ichimoku, since 2014. Every cycle the same pattern: kumo cross, the cloud thickens, price seeks equilibrium. 2015, 2019, 2022. Now, 2026.

Three angles, one conclusion.

Conclusions

Cycle floor, marker in time, structure on Ichimoku. Three different lenses, the same cycle bottom.

None of them is a prediction. None of them works alone. Together they tell the same story: we are in a zone of settling, not of free fall.

And above all the noise, from regulatory headlines to the candle of the day, the framework stays the same. The good decision comes from structure, not from fear.

Summary

The last cycle top, around $61k, is being tested now as a floor on monthly closes.
Three independent markers, the floor, the World Cup and Ichimoku, point to a bottoming zone.
The July 1 rules are about infrastructure, not about taxes or your coins. Noise, once you know what they mean.
