Everyone fears high rates. History says the opposite. Look at when the crises came: not after years of high rates, but right after the Fed cut aggressively. In 2008 and in 2020, first the cut, then the collapse.

It does not read where you think

The textbook says two negative quarters of GDP means recession. Put side by side, real recessions share one thing: inflation falling hard, down to deflation.

2008 went toward deflation. So did 2020. A true recession comes with prices collapsing, not with inflation rising. Today inflation is not falling hard. So the signal is not there.

There is a window worth watching, between September 2026 and January 2027. If a shock comes, that is where it would show. Past it, 2027 looks clean, and the big picture stays a secular bull running into 2034-2035.

What follows is not guaranteed euphoria. There is room, but also a natural place to pause. Into year end the picture leaves space for another 20-30%, with stops along the way.

Where the asymmetric bet sits

The best investors do one of two things: they either buy maturity and time, or they hunt asymmetric bets, cheap things the market does not understand yet.

In stocks, the deep themes are energy and commodities. Oil has a road toward 200 dollars a barrel by around 2030. Copper, used heavily in industry, is another place where real demand meets tight supply.

You hunt what is cheap and misunderstood, not what is already on every screen.

For exposure to the crypto trend through the stock market, miners or companies directly exposed to Bitcoin stay a levered proxy, for whoever wants it through equities rather than directly.

Not everything cheap is worth buying, here as everywhere. The difference between a good asymmetric bet and a trap shows in structure and in patience, not in the headline of the day.

But above every theme, one mechanism decides direction: who actually leads the rates.

The Fed

The Fed listens to yields, not to a man

The headline that scares people these days is the new Fed chair, Warsh: hawk or dove, will he cut or will he hold? It is the wrong question. The Fed does not follow its chairman, it follows the bond market.

Rates follow the most sensitive indicator: the 3-month yield on US government paper. The policy rate always sits a bit above it, a healthy delta. And the 10-year yield is the direction leader, the one that moves first.

Warsh has nothing to say. The yields say it. He follows them.

Think of a traffic light. For the pedestrian to get green, the cars have to go red first, with a lag of a second, two, maybe three. That is the lag between the 10-year yield, which leads, and the 3-month, which the policy rate follows.

So the sign that matters is not who sits at the Fed. It is the direction of the 10-year yield. If it keeps going up, rates could rise from 2027. That sounds like bad news. It is the exact opposite: rates going up means an economy that carries them.

And here is the plan, short and long. We monitor the second half of the year together. If the weakness materialises across all markets, that is exactly where we get ready to buy again, more aggressively. A correction is not a reason to be afraid. It is the moment we keep ammunition for.

One reflex remains: in the stock market, what scares you in the headline is often exactly what keeps the market alive.
