The company that doesn't stop at the sky

I think SpaceX can become the biggest company in the world over the next ten years.

I want it for the long term, but I haven't rushed to buy it.

Right now I'm looking at shorts instead, waiting for the price the market gives me.

Key takeaways

SpaceX listed on the Nasdaq in June, ticker SPCX, at 135 dollars a share.
It ran up to a high of 225 dollars, then came down, and now it's around 143.
I think it can become the biggest company in the world in about ten years, because its scalability doesn't stop at the sky.
Under the same roof it has xAI, merged with SpaceX, and Starlink, the largest satellite internet network.
But at today's price I still find it expensive, so I'm not rushing. I look at shorts into resistance and wait.
The Tesla lesson: the market pays for the future, not for today's profit. Tesla only turned profitable in 2020, ten years after it listed.
OpenAI and Anthropic haven't listed yet, they're only preparing, but I expect the same pattern when they arrive.
What I watch: what the price does after day one, not on day one.

When you hear „the sky's the limit”, it's meant as encouragement.

For this company, it isn't even true.

I'm talking about SpaceX. It's been public for a few months now, and I'd been watching it before it was.

I think it can become the biggest company in the world.

And I still think that, at today's price, it's not the time to buy. Let me walk you through both.

Definition

A forward-looking market

The market doesn't pay for what a company earns today, but for what it believes the company will earn years from now. That's why a company with no profit can carry a huge valuation: the price reflects the future the market imagines, not the current balance sheet. It's also why valuations can look detached from reality until reality catches up. Or doesn't.

The company

Why I think it becomes number one

SpaceX isn't just rockets.

Under the same roof it has xAI, the artificial-intelligence side, merged with it this year.

And it has Starlink, the largest satellite internet network in the world.

When a company does rockets, artificial intelligence and internet from space, the sky really isn't the limit anymore.

Each of the three would be a large business on its own. Together, hard to match.

That's why I think that, over a horizon of about ten years, it can become the biggest company in the world.

It's not a promise. It's the direction I'm looking in.

SPCXThe ticker SpaceX listed under on the Nasdaq in June, at 135 dollars a share.

SpaceX since it listed. It ran up to 225 dollars, then came down toward the 104 to 110 zone, and now it's around 143.

And yet, at today's price, I'm staying on the sidelines. Here's why.

The price

I think it's big, but right now I also think it's expensive

Seeing far doesn't mean paying any price today.

At the current level, SpaceX still looks overvalued to me.

It's at a local resistance that shows clearly on the chart.

I want to own it for the long term. But first I want to see what price the market gives me, not chase it.

So for now, I'm looking at shorts into these resistance zones rather than at accumulation.

It's a trade that kept me on edge, I'll admit it. I played it with a tight stop, at a small risk, and I tracked it step by step.

The best prices so far were around 104 to 110 dollars. Maybe the market hands them to me again, maybe it even goes below 100.

Whatever price it offers, I'll still end up owning it. Just on my timing and my level, not on someone else's rush.

$104–110The zone where SpaceX had its best prices so far. The level I'm waiting for to accumulate, not today's price.

To see why a big valuation doesn't scare me, look at Tesla.

The lesson

What Tesla taught me about valuations

Tesla was valued like a monster long before it shipped cars in volume.

The market was looking at what the company would produce years out, not at the balance sheet back then.

It only turned profitable in 2020. About ten years after it listed.

The market pays for the future it imagines, not for today's profit. That was Tesla, and it's the case now.

That doesn't mean every big valuation is justified. It means a company without profit yet can still make sense if its future actually arrives.

With SpaceX I think the same way: I'm not looking at what it earns today, but at what it can build over ten years.

The difference is that, unlike many, I don't confuse „I believe in it” with „I buy it at any price”.

2020The year Tesla had its first annual profit, nearly ten years after its 2010 listing.

I apply the same logic to what's coming: OpenAI and Anthropic.

What's next

OpenAI and Anthropic, the same story

The next big names preparing to go public are OpenAI and Anthropic.

For now they're only at the preparation stage, they haven't listed yet.

When they do, I expect the same pattern as SpaceX.

A run-up at first, then a correction, then a period of settling. Just like SpaceX.

You can already bet on them before listing, through leveraged instruments available only in certain markets. But those aren't real shares, they don't give you ownership in the company.

I don't rely on those for holding. I just watch them.

When the real listing comes, I'll do what I do with SpaceX: watch what happens after day one, not on day one.

not yetThe listing status of OpenAI and Anthropic. They're preparing, but they haven't listed, whatever anyone says.

From here, how we're positioned is simple and patient.

How we're positioned

The broad framework stays the one from last week, now applied to individual names.

With SpaceX we don't accumulate in a hurry. We wait for the price, and in the meantime we lean defensive into resistance.

We read the accumulation target in the 104 to 110 zone, not at today's level.

With OpenAI and Anthropic we don't rely on leveraged pre-listing instruments. We just watch them.

The rule everywhere: we watch what the price does after day one, we don't dive in on day one.

Conclusions

SpaceX might be the company that doesn't stop at the sky.

I believe in it for the long term, but not at any price.

Right now I wait, and I even look at shorts, until the market gives me a good level.

OpenAI and Anthropic are coming, but they're not here yet.

Patience, with valuations like these, is half the gain.

What to watch this week

Does SPCX return to the 104 to 110 zone, or does the market stop offering that price?
Does the current local resistance hold, or does it break upward and change the short-term picture?
When OpenAI and Anthropic list, do they repeat the SpaceX pattern: run-up, correction, settling?
